About

The Hispanic Association of Small Business was founded by Armando N. Hurtado and incorporated in 2014 with the mission to help minority owned businesses and/or individuals aspiring to be small business owners, or entrepreneurs, in socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation. We believe that lack of business fundamentals, higher education or financial resources are the primary factors preventing small businesses from prospering. Our goal is to provide tools and resources to these entrepreneurs to improve their productivity in their local economy, and thus empower them to compete within their local community against large businesses, thus growing a healthier local economy.

Our Mission

The H.A.S.B. was established in 2014 as a nonprofit corporation. We aim to provide Hispanics and other minority business owners, or aspiring business owners, with educational materials, business workshops, and remedial English workshops to improve the local rate of success of such individuals in the community. By advocating on behalf of individuals, small businesses, and entrepreneurs, that fall under said categories such as Disadvantaged Small Businesses (DSB), we hope to eliminate prejudice, and discrimination, against socially disadvantaged and underprivileged small businesses.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to educate, promote, network, and connect small businesses and minority owned businesses with English language barriers. By doing so, we hope to make these businesses more productive within their communities by promoting economic growth.

We believe by eliminating prejudice and discrimination, defending human and civil rights within the constitutional law, and by informing and educating small business owners and minority owned businesses, communities will flourish and improve the overall quality of its residents and local economy.
